Hurricane Chronicles RPG
If you enjoy the Naruto series, and enjoy creative and exciting community writing, look no further than the Hurricane Chronicles RPG!

With the roleplay just beginning, we'll hoping for some people to temporarily fill important character roles with non-playable-characters alongside their own player-characters. This includes not only one of the five Kage, but those of the minor countries, leaders in each village's ANBU divisions, and even one of the nine tailed beasts!

Why hello! This is your friendly neighborhood founder, Ketch, and I appreciate you not being frightened away by this overly-obnoxious theme and stopping by to find out more about this fledgling roleplay!

I started this forum by myself, and attempted to get the roleplay off of the ground with a hastily-assembled group of people. Due to real-life commitments, they were unable to stick around and …

Genjutsu
Genjutsu techniques work by sending one’s own chakra directly into the target’s body to disrupt the activity of their brain. The effects of this are represented in a myriad of ways, left to the discretion of the user and the techniques they are able to employ; some may be simple suggestions of mind while others can seem intimately real and almost completely indistinguishable from reality. However, only those highly practiced with this style of combat can achieve the latter.

Genjutsu Ranks:

Genjutsu works by affecting the target’s mind, typically manipulating one of the five main senses of sight, sound, taste, smell, and touch. Others can affect the target's memory. Some techniques focus on only one while the more advanced affect some or all. The number of senses the technique affects determines the rank of the genjutsu:

D-Rank: 2 Senses
C-Rank: 3 Senses
B-Rank: 4 Senses
A-Rank: 5 Senses
S-Rank: +5 Senses

Genjutsu are not universally restricted by the number of senses affected. This means that there cannot be a C-Rank technique that affects 5 senses---but there can be a technique of A-Rank that only affects 2 senses.

Awareness and Defense:

Users attempting to defend against genjutsu via Gensou Kaijo may only dissipate illusions up to their rank in Chakra Control. For instance, an opponent that has 10,000 Chakra Control may defend against all illusionary techniques at B-Rank and below. At this level of control, the affected also has the awareness to recognize techniques at or below their rank. However, techniques at their level will prove more difficult than those below it.

Aside from Gensou Kaijo, the user may be released by receiving from an ally an amount of chakra equal to the cost of the technique affecting them. Another way is to inflict pain on one’s self to bring their senses back to.

Genjutsu Techniques:
List of all general illusionary techniques.

D-Rank
Shibari (Binding) - 350 Genjutsu

Targeting the user's sense of touch, the opponent is overwhelmed with the sensation of unperceivable tendrils wrapping tightly around them, from head to toe, forcing them into an awkward and narrow stance.

C-Rank
Shuriken Bunshin (Shuriken Clone) - 750 Genjutsu

After throwing shuriken, the user quickly forms the necessary hand seals, manifesting one clone for each of the shuriken thrown. Effective across long ranges, this can possibly double the range of the projectiles, depending on how they're thrown.

After reaching 5,000 Genjutsu, the number of clones doubles. At 10,000 Genjutsu, three clones are manifested for each real shuriken.

B-Rank
Goumon Heya (Torture Chamber) - 4,500 Genjutsu

Upon effect, the user is brought to a separate time-space continuum that appears to be filled with a dark miasma with shallow water beneath their feet. Lengths of chain shoot from the surrounding darkness to ensnare the legs and arms of the opponent. A cubical prism of light forms around the opponent, phasing into the form of a steel cube with a series of gears interlaced with more chains that wrap tightly around the opponent.

At the will of the user, the chains tighten around the opponent's body. Enough force can be applied to crush muscle fibers and fracture bones through sheer pressure.
